English electrical contractors will now be able to work in Scotland, following an agreement by the ECA and Select.
ECA members wishing to work north of the border as Approved Bodies under the new Scottish ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Standards Act will need to meet the following Select requirements:
- they must have undertaken recent assessment by the ECA in the EAS A1 Work Category for commercial and domestic installations;
- they must submit to surveillance on an annual basis;
- qualified supervisors will have to pass the Scottish ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Standards training course;
- qualified supervisors need to have a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and recent BS 7671 updates in the last five years.
