…for the next 15 years
The 7,500 residents of the Aylesbury Estate in Elephant and Castle in south London can shortly expect to see work begin on demolishing the existing 285,000m2 estate after years of negotiations. The first phase of a project that will see 4,900 homes built over the next 15 years has been granted outline planning permission. Work on the first 260 homes will begin in Autumn 2008.

Newcastle council and the city’s housing market renewal pathfinder Bridging NewcastleGateshead, have finalised the masterplan for a £350m scheme to build 1,800 homes in the west end of the city. The project will cover 150 acres in the Scotswood and Benwell areas of Newcastle and will take 15 years to complete.
