I read a considerable number of magazines, on top the stuff of the ECA and NICEIC, just to keep up with my job.
Over the last few years when the now-feared, instead of welcomed, inspector calls and I have something missing, my response is to keep dropping various aspects of the work I do. Soon, the trade will be split into many, many sections and all because of bureaucracy.
Anyone self-employed now is on a fast downward spiral. Three days’ paperwork, two days’ real work.
I read with great resentment the NICEIC boasting two million certifications to the ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Regs. What a total waste of time, effort and money. Instead of a pat on the back, a kick up the arse would be more fitting. Almost every electrician I’ve spoken to can’t wait to get out of the trade.
Our trade bodies have sold us out.
