Architect Hawkins\Brown has been commissioned to take forward Foster + Partners’ Parliament Square redevelopment.

The practice is working with Olympic masterplanner EDAW and architect DSDHA, which did the original feasibility study with Foster, to design and build the high-profile scheme.

Carol Lees, for the scheme at Hawkins\Brown said particular attention had to be paid to security.

She said: “Our stakeholders are the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey and they obviously have distinct security concerns.â€

Hawkins\Brown won the commission last month after entering an invited competition against other practices on the Transport for London framework, including Foster + Partners.
