Natural ventilation and optimum daylight were the key design drivers behind the new offices for Kildare County Council at Aras Chill Dara.
Winner of a RIIBA European Award, the offices have floor plates of just 12 m which enabled natural ventilation to be used.
SE Controls worked with façade consultants RFR Architects to develop the strategy, based around a series of actuators fitted to the windows around the two buildings and the bridge. These are linked to OSO controllers which communicate with the BMS using the Lonworks interface.
