The Killian Pretty review has called for an overhaul of the planning application process.
The government welcomed the proposed revamp of the current bureaucratic process, and conceded that the process for small scale minor developments needs to be simpler.
Such a move could make renewable technology additions far simpler to install and the government claims that the proposed overhaul would save small businesses and councils up to 拢300m a year.
Housing and Planning Minister Margaret Beckett said: 鈥淚 am determined that we do everything we can to tackle today鈥檚 economic challenges head on. It is vital that when the economy begins to recover that people find a re-invigorated and leaner planning system.
