Construction products sales volumes have strengthened during the last three months to show healthy results for many suppliers.

The Ernst & Young/ Construction Products Association (CPA) activity barometer has recorded a score of 67, firmly above the 50 鈥榥o change鈥 mark.

The results point to a continued recovery in construction activity after 2005鈥檚 fall in output and the disappointing first half to 2006. Allan Wilen, the CPA鈥檚 economics director, says: 鈥淭he survey reveals continued recovery during the closing months of 2006.

鈥淭he index of light side sales, scoring at 79, is particularly strong and reflects the strength of the office construction sector and continued government investment in education facilities.鈥

Recent changes to the 黑洞社区 Regulations are also contributing to higher sales for energy saving products. However, manufacturers supplying to private housing and the home improvement market report that the sector remains subdued.
