Some of the obligations imposed on operators of stationary equipment containing HFCs have yet to be clarified despite the EU’s F-Gas regulations coming into force last month.
The delayed sections include return inspection visits; minimum training requirements; the labelling of new equipment; and the interpretation of ‘operator’ and ‘container’.
Most of the legal obligations for users of F-Gas refrigerants did come into force on 4 July, however. These include the prevention of and checking for leaks; automatic leakage detection systems; maintaining records of refrigerants; personnel qualifications; and the prohibition of sales of non-refillable containers.
