CIBSE鈥檚 campaign to encourage businesses to cut down on their carbon emissions has finished.

The 100 Hours of Carbon Clean-Up campaign challenges participating businesses to commit 100 hours of staff time to carbon-reduction activities, which includes assigning one member of staff to be their designated 鈥榣ow carbon champion鈥.

The businesses signed up to the campaign had 3 months to complete their 100 hours. This year鈥檚 campaign was the institute鈥檚 third consecutive carbon reduction campaign and saw around 500 businesses sign up.

The end of campaign party was held at Surya, which claims to be the world鈥檚 first eco-club.

CIBSE Chief Executive Stephen Matthews said: 鈥淥nce again we have been impressed with the level of enthusiasm and dedication displayed by participants and wish them every luck in their continued efforts to reduce the amount of carbon emitted from the workplace. With the current economic climate, the energy efficiency of buildings will increase in importance as people look to cut energy bills and work towards a more sustainable future.鈥
