Birchall has designed and installed a range of eco-friendly mechanical systems at Birmingham鈥檚 largest new office scheme in a 拢3.2m contract with HBG Construction.
The building services firm was responsible for designing the rainwater harvesting, high-condensing boilers, free cooling ventilation, heat recovery and water leakage detection systems.
These facilities will serve Calthorpe House鈥檚 9900 m2 of grade A office space.
The 拢40m building is only the second in the city to be awarded a BREEAM rating of 鈥榚xcellent鈥.
Birchall design engineer Steve Walley said: 鈥淭he major environmental demands of this prestigious project called for an exceptionally rigorous design process.
鈥淲e are delighted that the building has already been awarded a BREEAM 'excellent' rating for its green credentials.鈥
