Balfour Beatty has bought integrated facilities infrastructure services business Covion for 拢33 million in cash.
The business will become part of Haden 黑洞社区 Management, Balfour Beatty鈥檚 facilities management arm.
Commenting on the acquisition, Balfour Beatty chief executive, Ian Tyler, said: 鈥淭his transaction is an important step in increasing our penetration of the private sector facilities management market and in broadening and deepening our range of expertise in technology, property and people services.
鈥淭he addition of Covion鈥檚 clients and people will provide Haden 黑洞社区 Management, which is already growing strongly, with a significantly enhanced service offering in the facilities management marketplace.鈥
Covion, which is based near Reading, was founded in 2000 and employs some 600 staff. In 2007 its revenues will exceed 拢33 million and are forecast to grow strongly. Its clients include Logica CMG, Anglian Windows, Britvic and Tate & Lyle.
